Bang! Was that the sound of the gorgeous Riley Costello getting shot, or our jaws hitting the floor? We can’t really decide.
The end of tonight’s episode was the moment fans had been patiently waited for – evil Mercedes was being carted off down the cop shop, and Riley was about to be reunited with the love of his life (and sort of cousin, ick!) Mitzeee. Could there finally be a happy ending on the horizon for the lovers? It certainly doesn’t look that way right now, does it?
We’d been promised that there would be more than one casualty in Walker’s twisted vendetta against Brendan, but we never imagined innocent Riley would be the one caught in the crossfire.
The poor bloke’s never hurt anyone in his life, although he did come perilously close to pushing Mercedes over that rooftop, but that wouldn’t have been a bad thing, right?
Our lips are sealed over Riley’s fate – but with a bullet lodged in his stomach, his chances of survival aren’t looking too great. If the footballer croaks it, what will Mitz do without her man, and how on earth will Doug live with himself knowing that he played a part in his best mate’s death? The guilt would be overwhelming.
These are all burning questions that may or may not be answered in the next few days, but in the meantime we can’t wait to see what happens next in the gripping Walker/Brendan saga. Who else is going to get hurt in their war?
Everything’s suddenly taken a very dark and sinister turn in Hollyoaks… But do you know what? We can’t get enough!
